: Burton upon Stather Toddler Group

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, we are currently unable to return. We do hope that we can come back soon though.

Burton Toddler group is a meeting group for all parents/carers/mums-to-be and children aged 0-5 (pre-school age). The session runs every Friday morning from 9:15am - 11:15am (except in school holidays) and is held at the Burton Village hall on Todds Lane.

Each week we have lots of different play activities for the children which we organise on a rota basis so that each week is something different. For special times of the year we organise extra activities or crafts.

More Information

Please come along and join us. We use these sessions as a social interaction for the children and also for the parents/carers to have a chance to get out with other adults for an hour or so and relax in an environment where the children are safe.

We are committee based and everyone volunteers to help setup and tidy up each week, set-up starts at 9:00am - 9:15am and tidy up is 11:00am - 11:15am during sing/story time! We ask that parents who do come regularly to help us do this as we are also a voluntary organisation and there can be a lot of work involved some weeks! As an organisation that is run for the benefit of children even though we are voluntary we are required to have a child protection officer on the committee and a first aider should there be any problems.

The committee is always open to new members and will happily receive any idea's that people have to make our group better and help to raise funds for new toys and activities.

Here are examples of the things we organise - A Christmas party with Santa and Magicella, an end of term summer party with picnics and outside activities. We support most of the national fundraising events such as Children in Need and Comic Relief. We like to have different craft activities and/or fancy dress this also applies to Easter, Halloween, Mothers Day and Fathers day etc.

We arrange an adults nights out as well so that the grown-ups can have chance to talk and get to know each other better without the interruption of children.

We have different fundraising events throughout the year which are aimed at keeping the children happy and entertained whilst helping to raise funds for new toys or activities for the children to do. Our main fundraising events are the Burton in Bloom village fate where we have a stall and help with arranging a children’s fancy dress parade. And the Christmas Fayre in the village hall where we have a stall.
